Coverage

Signals compare the selected period with the preceding period of equal length. They include regional changes and changes at designated military airfields. A signal marked Provisional means one or more relevant scrape windows are unfinished.

Deduplication

Repeated messages with the same aircraft and route within 2 hours are merged into one estimated flight. If the same aircraft reports the same origin but a different destination within 90 minutes, the last destination wins.

Different origins, flight numbers or later reports stay separate. This is an estimate: some true flights may be merged and some repeats may remain. The underlying R2 archive is untouched.

Classification & geography

Identified US military uses named military owners/operators and aircraft references. Airfield-linked adds repeat visitors to designated military bases; this does not confirm military or US status.

Aircraft type is a platform category, not the mission flown. Location means the latest reported destination, not a confirmed landing or present position.

The airfield selectors show only the curated military or joint-use register. Region and country counts include all reported airports, including civilian ones.
